Apartment Complex Gives Killer All Access Key

An apartment maintenance worker, with a company issued master key fob to all apartments, died by suicide following the disappearance of a 19-year-old college student who lived in the apartment complex.  The victim’s body was later found in a nearby wooded area.  The victim’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the apartment complex, Arden Villas Luxury Apartments in Orlando, Florida, which owns and operates the property, and The Preiss Company, which operates and manages the apartment complex.  Records show a key fob being used to enter her apartment thirty minutes before she got off work.  Where the killer laid in wait for her to return.

The victim previously expressed concerns to Arden Villas regarding him making her uncomfortable, and pursing her romantically, though she had expressed she was not interested multiple times.  The complex did nothing in response to her complaints.  The family hopes to get answers and prevent this from happening in the future at other complexes.
