Multiple Semi-Truck Drivers Arrested in Kentucky & Indiana for Driving Impaired

From January 9 to March 5 Kentucky and Indiana police have been cracking down on impaired semi-truck drivers, making multiple arrests of drivers being accused of driving while using drugs. 

Most recently, a driver from Louisville was arrested on Interstate 64 in Floyd County, Indiana for smoking marijuana while driving a semi-truck, and was found to be in possession of more marijuana in his truck.  Another arrest occurred in Indiana on US 31 South in Scott County when a semi-truck driver was found to have methamphetamine and paraphernalia. 

In early January a commercial truck driver from Georgia was arrested in Bullitt County Kentucky when he admitted to smoking marijuana laced with cocaine after failing field sobriety tests.  A K-9 was also called to search the truck and immediately found bags of white powdery substances in the vehicle. The driver was charged with possession of a controlled substance and operating a commercial vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
