A World Without Lawyers

Lawyers get a bad rap.  I am constantly reminded of how little respect lawyers get in our society.  Most people fail to realize that without lawyers, society would dissolve into “mob rules.”  I recently had lunch with famed attorney Geoff Feiger who reminded me, that if doctors and engineers ceased to exist, it would be a very bad thing indeed.  People would get sick and die from preventable diseases and minor injuries; however, society would still exist (although it would look more like the “Dark Ages.”  However, if lawyers ceased to exist, we would soon be thrust back into anarchy, were people took what they wanted by force and with no fear of consequence.
